A perfumey perennial shrub native to the mountains of southern Europe. Exceptionally dark violet-blue flowers emerge from tall flowering spikes, and bloom throughout summer. Intensely aromatic foliage and flowers have traditionally been used to make perfumes, oils, or homeopathic remedies. Highly effective in mass plantings, this is also an excellent choice for adding color to shrubby borders or lining walkways.
