A fast-growing coastal evergreen shrub grown for its striking, upright form and flowering stalks densely clothed in small, lavender blue flowers. Whorled leaves are coated in tiny hairs, and create a textured display of gray-green. Extremely attractive to hummingbirds, bees, and butterflies, yet left alone by deer, this species is prone to spreading by self-sowing. An excellent background planting for flowering beds or borders, or massed on hillsides and slopes.
Price range: $26.99 through $71.99

We use plant forms to describe how a plant has been grown in our nursery. Here are some common nursery plant forms explained.
An espalier is a plant trained to grow in a two-dimensional form against a trellis.
Staked plants will be tied to a wooden or plastic stake during the growing process. This technique is generally used on vines but is sometimes used for certain trees or shrubs.
