Although this species is named after and appears similar to palms in appearance, it is formally classified as a conifer. This evergreen Japanese cycad creates a striking display of stiff, spiky rosettes comprised of dark green fronds. Foliage branches out from a central, woody pineapple-like trunk that slowly reaches a height of 10 feet tall. Instantly adds a tropical element to the landscape, or makes an excellent container or houseplant.
